What a great way to clean your dog - the big stainless steel washing station was at a perfect height for humans - like Tramp 1.
They provided several kinds of soap so Chucky got a good scrubbing. One soap was tearless for washing his head and face area.
A nice dose of conditioner was added before the final rinse.
The last step was to dry him well but it was tough because he was getting pretty excited by then. Two more labs had come in and were in the spot next to his. He really wanted to visit with them.
No after the bath pictures. We got him into the truck in a swirl of dog hair. He circled around his pillow, rubbing hard on the fleece and then plopped down and promptly went to sleep! He wasn't at at all traumatized by the bath. Chucky had lots of treats during his adventure, so he had good feelings about it all. We had burgers and beer before we took him, so we felt good about it, too!!

A self service dog wash? I was unaware that those existed!!!
Sounds like a good way to go to me...molliedog still gets just the water hose. She thinks it is an insult for a Queensland to get a bath and look nice!

I've never heard of a self service dog wash. During the colder month we stick our dogs in the tub (takes two of us to get our lab mix in there) and during the warmer month they get "outdoor" showers. :-)Needless to say, neither one of our dogs is really thrilled with taking a bath...
Awesome Tubby! Mojo gets the hose outside. Paco gets the sink. :)
Even though our dog hated water, too, she always would (reluctantly and pouting) step into the shower stall for a bath. We had a sprayer that attached to the shower head and my husband would kneel on the floor outside the shower to bathe her. We have a self-service doggie washing facility . . . but it's 80 miles away from us on the way to our nearest big city. I think your pup did so well because you were the ones giving him the bath and not a "strange" groomer person, don't you think?
Now that looks like a happy, clean dog!
I see car washes around town that say "car wash and dog wash". I had no idea. Too cool.
