During the colder winter months when we can't always be outside working on outdoor projects, we try to work on long overdue indoor projects.
This light was in the entryway of the house when we bought it. Since we rarely come in the front door, we just didn't think much about it. But recently we started to notice it more - it needed cleaning badly and just wasn't our style. Several years ago we replaced it's sister light that was much larger and hung over our dining table.
When I was cruising our local Craigslist online, I ran across this light. It was brand new, still in pieces in the box. We think it looks great and it cost us $25.00 and our time to put it together, remove the old light and hang the new one.
It looks especially good at night, casting a warm glow about the foyer.
What about you? What are your indoor winter projects and how are they going? Do you use Craigslist to shop or sell items?

Your new lamp looks great. What a deal. Being apartment dwellers we don't have this kind of projects anymore. I think I may be one of only a few who've never used Craig's List. Our needs are pretty simple so we've never needed to use it but an awful lot of people do.

Too many projects going on at once, all in some state of completion but focusing on the garden beds most of all.
Have never used craigslist but have friends who are always finding cool stuff on it.
The light was a real steal for $25!
The closest place to us to offer Craig's List is 120 miles away so even if we peruse it (online), it's a bit far to go for anything . . . or anyone to come to us for something we might advertise.
This winter we've been keeping busy doing cleaning and sorting. Our book sorting was a biggie! Hubby's been going through old files and dumping (hooray!) a lot. I've been enjoying having some time for handwork which I can't seem to find time for in the spring/summer/fall.
What a transformation! Looks great, nice soft light for welcoming guests!
We'ver been busy, too. Two highlights for the winer this year. First is finally getting some cabinets in the utility room/butler's pantry. Our cabin is small so every inch counts. By putting cabinets in the available space in the utility room, we'll get the appliances off the counter of the equally small kitchen and have some room left over to get the junk drawer out of the kitchen as well.
Second project is adding more bare root fruit trees. The Montrose Apricot is interesting, and Bay Laurel Nursery is one of the few that carry it. It was developed for high altitude with short growing season. We hope to get more than frozen blossoms from it. The added interest is that the kernal in the pit is edible, like an almond. Can't wait for some fruit. Hopefully it will be for more than just jam...
What an improvement!! And only 25 bucks!!! We use Craig's list for lots of stuff. We have purchased, a portable dishwasher, used only 1 year, a big generator still in the box, enough to power the whole house when the lights go out, and a gently used table saw to to some remodeling. Love Craig's list!!
I love craigslist. Like you, we do our house projects / repairs / remodeling / updates in winter. I've gotten some really good deals thanks to craigslist. It's meant I could have things otherwise out of our price range! I do sell too sometimes, mostly goats.
