The BBQ Season Kick Off

A week ago today we were really tired. But it was a very good tired. Tired from a trip to judge BBQ. Yes, the 2011 BBQ season has begun!

The first BBQ of the year was held in Seattle. What fun for us! I took a couple of extra days and drove. Tramp 1 flew into SeaTac airport and was able to avoid all that time in the car… with me….

The weather was a bit chilly but the sun came out and everyone seemed to have a really fun day.

The BBQ teams were cooking up their best food.

Tramp 1 was a judge and I was a table captain. Judges get to eat, table captains get to serve...

The categories were a bit different for this competition and included sausage.

Lamb was a focal point as this was the Australia Day BBQ competition. Lamb was provided to the teams by MLA - Meat and Livestock Australia.

Trophies along with cash and other prizes were what the competing teams were hoping to take home.

The day ended with beautiful clear skies and the evening was spent with friends that share the love of good BBQ. Yes, we did party a wee bit!

We won this gift certificate in a raffle. What a great way to start the New Year! Guess we had better get a lottery ticket, too!

Aww Seattle...love that place. The pics turned out great and yummy. What a treat for the gorgeous sunshine too!
P.S. great idea about the "hotel" soaps and giving them to those in need!

Mmm, BBQ....
Of course, anything where it would be enjoyable to spend a day outside would be wonderful right now. I'm ready for Winter to be over and we're just half way there. sigh...

The food looks good. I would love to be outside right now, but sadly, we are freezing our butts off. When will it end?
