Book Giveaway Recipient and Hectic Times...

Thanks to all for your interest and mea culpa for my tardiness in getting back to you all. Things have been so very busy here at Tramp's Camp.

We have hopefully made it through the installation of our new watering system. Several pipes broke in the last week and the guys had to come dig up and repair things. Seems that there is some faulty pipe sold by the manufacturer. We will be watching for more problems. The majority of this size of pipe with the issue is under our section of lawn - not good. The portions that have blown were in the front yard where there is no grass and just out of one of the junction boxes. Can't wait to get the water bill!

A great deal of our time lately has been spent on the procurement and planting of trees, shrubs, grasses, etc. Mother Nature was good to us and the weather has been unseasonably cool for this time of year, so we were able to really get a good jump on the landscaping. But the time has come for things to heat up quickly - it is supposed to be in the 90's by Sunday. Hopefully all our plantings will survive the sudden heat.

The next threat has been in the form of rabbits and deer. The bunnies seem to like the clumps of blue fescue and the deer have been enjoying the woolly thyme and the kinnickinnick, which is supposed to be a deer resistant plant. Oh, well, we are now using Liquid Fence to deter them - and it just might work. It sure deters us - that stuff stinks so darned bad! I was using a tank sprayer to apply it and accidentally let the pressure blow out and got it all over me - whew!!!
