Waking up to winter...

The weather report said we would have snow last night. In fact, the timing from the National Weather Service was right on. When I looked out before going to bed at 10:30, flakes were just starting their free fall to earth.

When I got up this morning I was greeted by close to half a foot of fresh snow and the rumbling of the snow plow. It has to be pretty deep for them to be on our road so early in the morning. Because we live out in the country we expect to be fairly low on the priority list and being the last house on a dead end road, even more so.

I am taking a coffee break to recharge before I head back out to finish shoveling the driveway. We should have purchased a snow blower... We talked about it but it seemed like more trouble than it was worth. Especially when you have to store it for most of the year and I know we would quibble over who got to use it. So for now, I am on snow patrol with shovel, broom and yard debris blower in hand!

Update on Tramp 1 - We met with the Neurosurgeon yesterday. Seems Tramp 1 has a hematoma at his incision site and it bears watching. He has had a severe headache and the Dr. has me watching him for signs of infection or meningitis... If that doesn't just make my day! Another reason to keep the driveway clean in case I have to get him into town in a hurry. The Dr. told us he would be on call this weekend...

Life is never dull for you, is it? I hope Tramp 1 is going to be OK. You take it easy shoveling all of that snow.

Please know that my prayers are with you during this trying time with Tramp1... it's scary, isn't it... but, do keep the walk clear so that Santa can find you, too. (I don't really think he rides around in an open sleigh in this weather, anymore...)

Oh no...I'm so sorry to hear Tramp 1 is not doing well. And just as sorry you are on snow shovelling duty! I shoveled the driveway for the first time ever a few years ago when my husband was away...ugh! Not fun and wouldn't you know it, not an enterprising teenager anywhere...I would have paid almost anything to have someone else do the driveway.
Keep your chin up and take good care of yourself to.
