It is down to this....

Oh, yes, we have no bananas, we have no bananas today.... And we have no holiday treats... The only thing treat like to nibble on around here are these things.

These are little gingerbread boy marshmallows, little vanilla snowmen marshmallows and last of all, dark chocolate covered espresso beans. And those espresso beans aren't anything to fool around with - they give me the afternoon boost I need these days but I don't touch them after 3:00 PM!

The little snowmen are great floating on cocoa - you can almost hear them hollering "I'm melting...". While the gingerbread boys really like to soak in a mug of hot milk with some eggnog mixed in - they seem to say "ahhh" as they slowly slip from sight into the murky whiteness.

Well, today it has to change. Time to hit the kitchen, make a big mess and create some holiday cheer! Be sure and check back to see what is cooking!

What special holiday goodies do you make?

My son and I make about 8 dozen of cut out sugar cookies with Amaretto frosting...ummm, they are scrumptious. In the past we have hosted an Open House for all our friends and bake, cook, bake, cook, bake and bake some more but with the economy and the cost of everything rising, we are not doing it this year. While I am sad we can't extend our hearts in this manner, gosh, I miss the time most in the kitchen.
I love the snowmen marshmallows..

Oh, Tracy, those sugar cookies are the best! I think we need to make some of those - they are my favorite!

Did you make the marshmallows? They look delish.

Pacy - the marshmallows were made by Kraft, not me...

Tracy - I forgot to mention how great your special open house sounded. What a lovely expression of caring for your friends. But it is probably nice to take a year off...

Next week maybe I'll bake a few things. Mom had an unexpected visit to the hospital this week due to a nasty gel capsule getting caught in her throat. No more of those for sure! Hope Trap 1 is feeling stronger. - Margy

Okay, that does it. Back to baking... I've got gifts to wrap! Wish I could have enjoyed your Open House but I know it was grand... Happy Holidays.
