You know that great movie, Misery? Well - I am Kathy Bates! Tramp 1 knows that I am in charge of the rules and the medications and he has to do as I say... Right - those of you who know him also know he doesn't mind well.
His surgery went well and I was able to bring him home yesterday afternoon. The drive was punctuated with a few groans from him if we hit a bump anywhere. The weather has moderated and our snow has been melting away and that made for an easier trip. For me it was a tense 25 miles.
He is sleeping now after a fitful night. I am trying to be very quiet so he doesn't wake up. Last night he was just a bit loopy from the drugs and said he was planning to be out barbecuing on Sunday. Not gonna happen... We don't know about the nerve damage yet -it will take time for things to settle down.
Thanks to you all for your concern and support. It means so very much to us both.

Misery loves company so I will be rooting for you the next couple of days...at least the surgery is over with...maybe appeal to Tramps 1 own self preservation...as in if you don't want to go through this again you had better be good!
Ahhh, so glad the surgery is over and D-O-N-E!!! now, please remember in your careful tending to his needs, you get your own needs met as well! ...thinking of you!
Yay, Now he'll be feeling better for Christmas. You go girl, with men like ours we have to be Nurse Cratchit's. Elese how will they ever get better.

I'm so glad the surgery was a success. Unfortunately, you still have the patient to deal with and men are lousy patients! Maybe a bottle of wine to drink whilst you're caring for him will make things brighter... I'm just sayin'...
Sheryl - I hear you and we are working on it!
Tracy - He does so much around here that after picking up the slack, I am too tired to think of me when the day is ending but I am going to start!
Pacy - I know there will be more surgeries for him - the Dr. said we are patching drywall. What about your fella?
Sharlene - Believe me, a bottle of wine sounds tasty! Maybe with a martini first!
I am glad the surgery went so well. You can be Kathy Bates all you want. Someone has to keep that man in line.
So happy for you to have hime back home; it will be a rought road ahead, but, I'm sure you will survive; been there and men are awful Stubborn!,,,keep him loopy!

My friend...all I can say is that he is lucky to have someone like you to watch out for him!
Good thoughts going out to the both of you!
BTW, don't forget to take a little time for yourself in there somewhere!
Mel - I'd rather be Marth Stewart like you - nothing is done here for the holidays... but I might head up in the attic for some decorations, maybe...
Rita - Yes, I am keeping him on schedule with the drugs. He has been very sweet about everything so far...
H.J.- I am also lucky to have him and I realize how much I depend on him now that he is down for awhile. I hope to be able to make a trip to town soon so I can do a bit of holiday shopping and recharge myself mentally.
