Trail Cam Capture - Learning Curve

This is the time of year when the deer are in the rut.  The bucks can be pretty crazy.  I decided to put up a couple of trail cams to see what might be going on.  I got lucky today - no big bruiser buck but a couple of cute youngsters!

"Over here - look over here!  What the heck is that thing?"

"I don't know.  Don't get too close - watch out!!"

"Who is gonna taste it?  You or me??"

"So - what did you think - is it safe, is it good?"

"It tastes really, really good.  Let's eat it!"

All that is left - the remains of an old watermelon after they had their fill....
Probably their very first taste of watermelon.
I am sure they will check back later to see if there is more!

Those are great pictures. I've wanted to get a critter camera for about a year. Looks like yours is called Stealth Cam. Are you happy with it? What is it like at night? - Margy

p.s. Thanks for following my new blog Margy Meanders.

How is it that creatures that look so sweet and benign can also be such forces of destruction? This year the Bambi's favorite food choices were hollyhocks and pumpkin leaves. Perhaps I should have left out a watermelon or two...

The third picture cracks me up because it looks like they are talking to each other and wondering what in the hell these round things were.
"Think we can eat it?"
"Probably....lick it."
"You taste it!"
"I know....we'll get Mikey!"

LOL, love the running commentary on those snaps! Wish we had them running around here, they are such beautiful creatures.

We love looking at my son's trailcam pictures. One of them caught a deer in mid-jump; it's amazing how high they can leap. I enjoy the antics of the turkeys, foxes, and raccoons that it captures also.
