Deer Noodles...

The past several weeks we have been seeing more deer coming around.  We know our pond brings them in to drink.  But they also come in to eat...

Yes, she is looking thin - probably had fawns hidden while she dined.

This doe stopped by with her fawn and another doe/fawn pair were with her but they spooked before I could take a picture of them.

We just put in fruit trees and haven't gotten all the fencing up yet.  The deer found them and munched things up pretty good.  I got these decorative sails to try to deter them.

These are some wacky "deer noodles" I made to test.  They are swim noodles from the dollar store.  I poked wire through them at the top and tied survey tape and hologram bird tape on wire loops at the top of each noodle.  Then I put a stake in the ground and slipped the noddle over the stake.  Since they are flexible, they bounce all around in the breeze.  I do think I need to add more tape to them.  If they help, it was a very cheap fix!  And they look pretty darned funny, too!

I am sure Chucky is going to freak out when he seems them!

Deer eat everything here. I'll be waiting to hear if the "deer noodles" work!

I'll be waiting as well to hear if they work. If they do, you should sell them!! I'm sure there are plenty of people who couldn't figure out how to make them for themselves. You could even do 'decorator colors'.
Seriously, if they work, I'll be making some.

I can't wait to see if the deer noodles worked. I think even if they don't they look kinda cute in the yard. :-)

That looks a darned sight cuter than what the lady down the road uses---plastic Walmart shopping bags on her fencing. They come floating by every time we have a wind. Maybe I'll show her your "Noodle Sculptures"! They look great!
