Or so the song says... But I have been a few places lately. Just got home last night from our latest travels. I've been from Oregon to Washington, Utah, Wyoming, Kentucky and Tennessee. And all in nine days, three airports, two rental cars and around 2000 miles of car travel.
When I left home, it was still warm and lovely. But now it is stormy, cold and wet. There is fresh snow falling in the Cascade mountains. And Tramp 1 is down again with an issue related to his back. It is hopefully just a facet joint issue and will be helped with a spine injection. Until then, he is drugged and staying put unless he has a very good reason to move about.
The deer seemed glad to see us back home again and came in twice today for apples. Then later this afternoon one of the new little bucks came running up very near the house and was hiding in some trees just off the deck area. He was staring intently back the way he had come from. I went to another window and looked out to see a big coyote come trotting through, probably looking for him. He stayed very still, watched and waited about ten minutes before venturing off very slowly. Sure hope the rest of the herd was safe, too.

That's a lot of traveling in a short period of time. I've been staying put in Bellingham to help my mother who just came out of the hospital and is recovering from back surgery. Not easy at 94 so I have moved in for now. Now that we are back home I've getting caught up a bit. - Margy
I hear ya on the traveling ~ it can exciting, but it does tire one out after awhile! Glad you are getting rest now, because it sounds like Winter is coming!!!Ack!
We saw a very bushy tailed "devil on my tail" coyote running across the road last week; the hunters are out so its turnabout time for the baby deer, as they watch the coyotes running for their lives...
