But first we have a lot of planting to do. And yesterday we picked up a couple ornamental pear trees at Costco. I had seen them the day before but I was in my little Suzuki Sidekick and had no way to haul them. So Tramp 1 went to Costco from work on Friday morning and they were still there, so I hopped into our big truck and headed into town to get them. We had to wrap them in sheets and bungee cords to protect them.
They are already blossoming. Not a great thing with our weather still dropping down well below freezing at night.
So we have them tucked away inside our shop until the weather moderates a bit at night. We were pushing 70 degrees today - way too warm.... The ceiling in our shop is 12 feet high and they are touching it and bent a bit, too.

My daffodil bulbs are almost done. They were up weeks ago. I haven't planted anything yet and probably won't for another two weeks due to our travel schedule. But I should still be good. My traditional planting week is Easter. - Margy
My little orchard is covered with buds and just a few are ready to open. The sugar snap peas have come up and I'm waiting for the rest of the spring garden. Tomorrow, I'll make another lasagna garden closer to my back door for just herbs. I love spring! All my ornamental trees have bloomed. Happy first day of Spring!
Green , growing things. Wow. I am envious. I'm half nuts wanting to get growing! We're still on the road, but kind of down south, so we have even resorted to visiting nurseries just to see some green growing things!
Well... mainly I'm moving some perennials and starting more seeds. I also need to order some grapes and filbert trees--but I have put it off quite a while now. I'm thinkin' of just taking a peek at the nursery later today though. We had a lovely 70s day yesterday. Its chilly this morning, but we're hoping will warm nicely again. :)
Happy Spring! I'm starting little seeds inside under the lights. We had a few inches of snow yesterday but it's mostly melted. I've got apple trees on order and need to pick up a few more blueberry bushes. The buds on the trees here are starting to swell and the grass has greened up. I can hardly wait to get outside to work.
