Here's what we did in May -

 The first weekend in May we were in Nashville.  Yes, I made this trip with my bad knee and rode a lot of wheelchairs in different airports!  Priority boarding was sure nice...



We attended graduation at Belmont University.

(Can you believe dear Mom will be 86 in August?!!)

We will be back at Belmont in three years to do it again when he graduates from law school.

 

While we were only back there for three days, we made the most of it and hit the Bourbon Trail in Kentucky.

 

We toured the Maker's Mark Distillery in Loretto Kentucky.

 

At the end of the tour we had a tasting lesson - fun!

 

Since we were there the day after the Kentucky Derby, they were still selling their special Mint Julep Maker's Mark.  This is sold only during the derby season and is only available locally.

 

We had to stop for ice cream at our favorite place in Bowling Green before we left Kentucky.

 

 

We needed to try some BBQ while in Tennessee.  We were staying in Mt. Juliet and there just happened to be a new Martin's in the area.

 A sampler platter - very nice.  Tramp 1 felt this was some of the best BBQ we have had at a restaurant - at least by our BBQ judging standards.
 

 

Our new favorite place - Twinburger in the Minneapolis-St. Paul airport.  Found in Concourse G, each seat has it's own iPad, in fact most all the seats in that entire concourse have iPads.  You can order from any of the places in that concourse and they will deliver the meal to your seat!  It makes for much less congestion or worry that you will have to wait in line to get something to eat.

 

 

 You can scroll through the menu, order and pay all from the I Pad.

 

 

 Oh, my goodness, this thing was fab!!  A donut burger! 

And the service was simply great - these people really work hard but manage to be friendly and helpful, not easy in an airport!

 

Not long after getting back home, we were off to British Columbia to judge a BBQ competition at the Cloverdale Country Fair.
 

Of course, we had to have some Poutine while at the fair!

 We went out to dinner with the Canadian head judges and several other judges that also traveled from the states for this event.
 

Those Canadians eat very well!  No, these were not our meals - Tramp 1 and I had pizza.

We were pretty tired after all these trips - plus Tramp 1 had to travel for work in May, as well.  But we didn't slow down much in June....
