Creating shade -

The summer sun can be relentless here in the high desert.  A bit of shade can cool things down and make time spent outdoors much more enjoyable.

These are shade sails that we have put up over our rotunda patio area in the side yard.  They are wonderful and not too difficult to put up.  Although Tramp 1 did have to climb a ladder up into a few juniper trees and make a quick trip up onto the roof a time or two.

We got the tan ones from Amazon and the brown one from Costco.  We still have five more brown ones to put up around the house.  The are made by Coolaroo and are very good quality.  We will take them down in the fall and store them away until next summer.

They kind of look like flying kites. "Cool", indeed! :)

Those are interesting. Nice to keep things cool with some added shade when it is so hot.
