This big, big dog is Darwin. Part Malamute, part Lab - at least that is what they think he is. What we know for sure is that he is sweet - just the nicest dog around. He had to be re homed recently and came to visit us with his new owners of just two weeks. A really gentle dog, dear Darwin.
Chukar is no small dog - over 60 pounds now. But as you can see in this picture, Darwin makes Chuck look petite. If Darwin were to have another name, it would be Arnold - he is built like an Austrian weight lifter - and he is known to hump to retain dominance. Sorry, I just had to tell the truth here..
When it was time for Darwin and his family to leave, Chuck decided that he was going to go with them. Ever stoic, Darwin allowed Chuck his puppy antics while he waited to hit the road. Darwin, being close to 7 years old, knows to conserve his energy for better things...Having company was great - especially for Chukar. But for us, fast grow the weeds. I should have been measuring them. I swear they literally grew taller overnight. Now it is time to hit them hard before the ground dries up and they are forever attached to Mother Earth. It is pull now or weed eat and spray later. By tonight my hands will be cramped up like crab claws. Ummm, seafood! Time to plan dinner! What will you be cooking this weekend?

Those darn Arnold's...they just can't control themselves...lol. WOW...60 pounds already...I think I will have to stick with a Queensland..Molliedog is 43 pounds and that's big enough for my little trailers!..take care..good to see you blogging..

Dog play days. Good for Chukar. Got my second cold of the year so it's warm up for Mom and lots of liquids for me. Hope she doesn't get it this time! - Margy
Chuck has the sweetest face. It is nice to have some doggie play time.

I wsn't cooking this weekend; we went to my son's, but I did bring supper in my slow cooker. Beef on a bun.
