July Update
No, this isn't Chucky - this is Phoenix the Schnauzer. He is very tiny dog when compared with our Chucky. But he is the dog I am with right now. I am in Washington state with my dear Mom. She has had some reactions to medications so I am staying with her for awhile. And we also have this furry fellow staying with us while my brother is on vacation.
Back in Oregon, smoke has filled our area with a 47,000 acre fire burning to the north and a smaller blaze going on to the south. Tramp 1 is taking care of things at home - the garden and Chucky are keeping him very busy. The first week I was gone he said everything was doing great and looking really good. The second week report had him saying he is doing the best he can... Isn't that just a bit concerning??! The heat just hasn't let up - great for the garden but not for people or Chucky. I wonder if he misses me - Chucky, not Tramp 1 - I know Tramp 1 misses me! Being a pack animal like he is, Chucky probably thinks I died and his life goes on - ball, food, ball!!
Yesterday a fire started here in Washington and the highway I will take home has been closed. It is very hot and wind is expected which will not help those battling the blaze. I sure do hope they are able to get it under control quickly and safely.
I find myself thinking of fall and cooler weather. It has been over 100 here the past six days and I am wilting! I am sure a few cooler days would put the bounce back in my steps. Bring it on, please!!!

So sad to her you are afflicted with fire in both places. At least ours skipped a year between home and our retreat. The heat makes is so much less fun. The Silver fire was bearing down near us in June when the temps were in the 90's -- along with the smoke filled air and ash dropping on our homes and gardens, it was an unsettling time. USFS gave us a high potential that the fire would burn out before it got to us, and they were right.
Hope you'll be as fortunate, but it's sure no fund while it's happening.
Best wishes to you Mom and the cute pup!
Wow, two fires, I'm so sorry. I hope mother nature sends some much needed rain your direction. And I hope your mother is doing well. I'm sure she is glad to have you there to help!
Hang in there!
Funny, just today I commented to Don that I'm sure looking forward to Fall.
Best of luck with all the wildfires burning. Stay safe!
You have had such a miserable summer with all the heat. The fires are so scary. Hope you get some rain and relief soon.
Oh gosh, not a good situation in either of your places. Fire is such a scary thing. What a summer season it has been. So many fires while other parts of the country are dealing with too much rain and flooding. Sending best wishes to your mom, hope she's feeling better soon. Chucky (AND Tramp 1) may be doing okay while you're away, but you can be assured they will both be beside themselves with joy when you come home!
hope your mom is better real soon! Chucky will make up for lost time when you go home. Mojo misses hubby between his trips home and then he is crazy excited when he comes back. :)
