It burned to the ground while an old outhouse and kids fort were not touched. This cabin was built by family for gatherings and fun times and was enjoyed by multiple generations. In fact, a family reunion was to be held there this summer. The reunion will most likely go on and there will be many stories shared about all the special memories everyone has from this special place. Yes, a loss, but also a new beginning and a time to cement relationships with the bond that grows during adverse times...

Sorry to hear about the loss of your family cabin. I hope you've got some pictures, but the memories are what matters.
It's not the cabin that's the loss; it's the little memorabilia that made it so special to your family that hurts. I'm sure there'll be some wonderful stories to share this year and hope that you all will consider rebuilding for the future generations. Come visit when you can.
How sad. I'm glad your family member's home was saved but how sad about the cabin. Maybe you can all rebuild it as a family and create new adventures together.

That is so sad, but at least their home was OK. A friend's cabin burned down last year. They never investigated to find the cause. For months I was nervous about losing our cabin home, but have calmed down a bit now. Using propane has always made me nervous, but it has work well so far. - Margy
Oh , so sad. I'm glad they are safe, but how hard to lose the cabin. Hope they didn't lose any "personal" items --photos, etc. That is what is hard.
That is such sad news. I am relieved to hear that everyone is OK.
I can only imagine the horror these people are living; Sending hugs your way.
