Sadness and Blessings -

During the past month we have made two trips to bury family.  Two of Tramp 1's cousins passed away - a brother and a sister - one from cancer, one from Alzheimer's disease.  They leave behind many who loved them dearly.

While we all swirled in the cloak of sadness, we received a wonderful blessing.  With their deaths, they brought family together.  While it was a poignant and difficult time for our hearts, it was also a time of sharing - sharing photos and stories, laughter and memories.  A time of remembering parents, aunts and uncles, brothers and sisters, remembering events that marked time - holidays and weddings, births and deaths.

We were also blessed with beautiful fall weather for both burials.  Autumn leaves danced in the wind as we all stood graveside.  What a wonderful gift to have a sunny day when your heart is crushed with sadness.  After each burial we gathered together, not to mourn but to remember our dear cousins.  They will be in our hearts always.  Our thoughts and prayers are with their families as they make their way through the holidays with that empty chair at their table for the first time...

Bless your heart...hard, hard, and more hard but time helps a little (never thought I would say that but it is true) and the best is to honor their lives with celebration of wonderful memories. Happy Thanksgiving!

Sadly, we understand all too well. Thoughts with you, but do enjoy that time with family, it means so much.

Side note, I owe you an email, coming soon this long weekend.

It seems nearly everything in life is a mixture of good and bad.

That's the way life can be, sadness and happiness coming close together. Maybe that's how we can make it through the harder times. Hope you have a peaceful and loving Thanksgiving. - Margy

In a way, it is sad that it takes a funeral to bring family together, isn't it? At the same time, it's an honor to the deceased that his/her death forged strong family bonds.

The first year after a loss is always the hardest . . . holidays, birthdays, anniversaries.

Hoping your whole family can revel in the good memories this Thanksgiving.
