Chukar's Big Day...

As I write this post, our Chukar dog is at the Vet's office being neutered. He weighed in this morning at a hefty 59 pounds, just 6 1/2 months old. He will also be micro chipped, tested for heart worm and they will check to be sure his ear infection is gone. This will hopefully be his last trip to the Vet in a very long time!

We would have had his surgery earlier this month but we have been on the road far too much. Tramp 1 had to travel for work last week so we took Chukar to stay with our friends in Washington and I was able to go with Tramp 1. It was a treat for me to have time in the Seattle area. I love the lush, green and wet Puget Sound area.

We passed by the bluebird nest again and Mama bird was on watch, busy feeding her little ones.

The babies have feathers now and will be long gone by the next time we pass their home again.

Chukar enjoys the road trips. He uses the time to catch up on his napping...

He is really good at sleeping in the car - start the motor and down he goes!

When you wrote about Seattle and Pungent sound, I got all excited. Did you go to Pike place Market?.

You're lucky! I had a dog that went into hysterics in the car--panting, gagging, you name it. It's much better having a sleepy dog!

My dogs have to be sedated when we take road trips. So not fair!!

Not the best day for Chukar, but probably the best thing to do. You are lucky he is such a good traveler with all your comings and goings. - Margy

It's nice to know I have something in common with a dog! Put me in a car with a driver and I'll sleep until told we've arrived at our destination! Chukar's beautiful and a great car companion to protect you, too. Come visit when you can and enter the give-away!

Mojo nods out most of the way too. :) This last trip though he decided he needed to 'go' when I hit the last stretch of I-77, egads! Crazy german shepherd in the car. He usually just sleeps on the back seat, he was trying to drive by the time I got to a place he could 'go'.
I love your cage in the car. Mojos still got a crate but its huge--can't put it in the van. Good idea though.
