Friday evening we took off headed to central Washington state to visit my Mom. Since the drive is fairly long, we like to eat in the car to save time. And due to time constraints, I decided to make it very easy and picked up some sushi to munch on. Not too messy to eat in the car but maybe a bit dangerous when Tramp 1 got a pretty big hit of wasabi on one of his bites!

We were treated to some beautiful cloud formations scudding slowly across the high desert.
The sun was setting while random raindrops splattered down on the windshield.
Holding my arm out the car window as we cleared the bridge across the Columbia River got this shot of the river the small boat basin built for the Yakama Indians to use while pursuing their tradition of fishing for salmon.
As the last of the light faded, we passed the final wind turbines that dot the landscape for many miles. These are on the hills above the Columbia as the road climbs up to Goldendale Washington.

Tramp 1 headed back home Sunday afternoon and I am still visiting Mom. She had been requesting some time spent to do some computer tutoring. I think it is so great that she is still learning and has an interest in staying up with technology.

I love sushi but never though of it as travel treats. Good idea though. My mom used to try to do e-mail and read my blog, but she has quit now that her computer's hard drive died. She never really liked it so I just share my pictures with her when I come to visit. Good for you mom! - Margy
Beautiful Pictures!!!
What great shots of your trip...
Thanks for sharing the trip with such great photos. Wish my family was computer-savvy. It's okay until I visit for a week and have to go to the local Krystal to get WiFi...good for your Mom.
That is a beautiful drive. It must make the trip go faster to see those sights along the way.
I like sushi too! It is a good finger food but yeah, there should be warning labels on the wasabi. Something like, "DO NOT eat wasabi while driving, It may temporarily obscure your vision" :) Have fun visiting mom!
Before my pre-vegi days *giggle* I love sushi...shhh...still do...but trying to be a true vegi. Your clouds looks a lot like I have been having. Living on the ridge it is a wee bit like living in the high country and our views are similiar. Enjoy your visit with your Mom...Hi Mom!
Thank you for sharing the beautiful pictures with us!
Oh, and you can have my share of the sushi...never agreed with me!
I like my fish fried! Remember, I'm from the South!
Beautiful!
All over this country there are so many beautiful places to see! Thank you for posting the pix!
