And apparently did not like them much!
The next morning Tramp 1 was looking out the kitchen window and there was a buck, munching away in what we thought was a securely fenced area. I went out to send him packing and watch to see his escape route. He lofted himself smoothly over the four foot fence, squeezing between the fence and the line that runs above it. The space was only two feet. Needless to say, we added another line of surveyor's tape and have not had any more unwanted diners!
We left again for part of the next week and came home to find one of the Peter Cottontail bunnies had been attacked in our garden. All that was left was a head and a couple of feet. So sad. But it wasn't the original Petey - he was seen cooling off under the grapes yesterday.

First of all thank you for following and sorry about your garden as well as for bunny.
You have a wonderful blog and I will be enjoying checking out what you have already post.
Just moved from Oregon and I miss it. Where I am now it is different but it has its own beauty and it has been a nice change...plus I am up for anything. Have a good one!
What a bummer with your garden. I know we've had to completely surround our grapevine with chicken wire....it looks ridiculous, but it has saved it. The darn deer were cramming their heads over, under and in between any other kind of fencing we had around it. I love deer, just NOT in my food!
Have a super weekend!!
Oh dear! We've had trouble with deer and rabbits. With our new home standing vacant for almost a year, the deer made themselves at home and haven't quite figured out that we live here yet. We got an electric fence to put around the garden but haven't had time to put it up this year. Maybe next year....

Diane,
Welcome to Tramp's Camp - our little piece of the crazy world! We moved here from the valley a decade ago but have just started the gardening thing here in the last couple of years. A very different challenge and we aim to win!
Sue,
The grapes belong to Tramp 1 - probably a misplaced dream for our climate. But I love looking out at them and they have been pest free so far other than the deer and the bunny.
Judy,
We have really enjoyed watching your move to the country. Your garden did great even with the critter attacks! This is the first summer without our old dog and I think the deer and bunnies have realized that he is gone!
